"An Enriching Environment"

For young children up to and including the Kindergarten age, everything in their environment is their teacher. What does this mean? It means that the young child learns through imitation rather than by formal instruction. Our kindergarten creates an enriching environment worthy of the child’s unquestioning imitation, making the transition from home to school one full of caring, sharing and warmth.

We ensure a rhythmically structured and ordered day, balancing teacher initiated activities with child oriented play. Our play environment is simple, with toys and materials that invite and allow the child’s imagination and creativity to come to life.

Different artistic activities all have a place within the kindergarten week. Beeswax modelling, watercolour painting, cooking, drawing, gardening, wool handwork and other seasonal activities are brought to the children in creative and playful ways. Together they learn to work with their hands in useful ways, enjoying the beauty of what they create.
